As Maker’s Mark Lounge hosts this inaugural contest, they invite BourbonBlog.com‘s Tom Fischer to be a judge. After tasting around 10 brilliant cocktail recipes by the talented mixologists (all competitors pictured below), Tom and the rest of the judges including Dave Pickerell, Gathan Borden and a few others, name César Perez-Ribas of Corbett’s the First Prize Winner. Here is César’s cocktail recipe for “Lemonade Hayride” …
“Lemonade Hayride” recipe by César Perez-Ribas of Corbett’s: an American place
(Dual Homage to the classic Whisky Sour and the seminal Louisville rock band namesake)
2.5 ounces of Woodford Reserve Bourbon
.5 ounce of Tuaca Natural Liqueur
1 ounce Maple and Agave Infused Simple Syrup (with cinnamon stick)
2 ounces of Fresh Citrus Juice Blend (3 parts Lemon and 1 part Orange or Tangerine)
Instructions:
– Combine these elements in a shaker glass with ice and shake with vigor.
– Strain into a rocks tumbler with clean ice.
– Hit with a finishing spritz of sprite or 7-up
– Garnish with fresh lemon peel zest and 2-3 blueberries.
– Hint: Soak blueberries overnight in Van Gogh Blueberry Infused Vodka.
