At BourbonBlog.com, we are curious who YOU are rooting for and what do you think of the show? Post your reply in comments below.
Tim tells us he was working on the idea for this show for a long time. He also credits the birth of the show from others he met “at the right place at the right time.”
The last part of the inspiration for making this a show came when his father passed away. And around the same time moonshiners Barney Barnwell and Popcorn Sutton passed away.
Tim then believed this was his time to transition from being a moonshiner to legal moonshiners and distiller.
With this the new spotlight, and the goal of owning his own legal distillery and/or his own brand of moonshine, Tim invites you to visit his website TimSmithMoonshine.com .
We congratulate Tim, the complete cast, creators and producers on the success this new show. And Tim, we’ll look forward to tasting your moonshine!

In this interview, Tim Smith talks about his son J.T. and Tickle who also star on the show Moonshiners, Discovery Channel

Good show Tim and Tickle! Hope you are reading these blogs. I learned a lot from the show. That burner may be ‘traditional’ but, you really need to let some air in where the gas hose goes in and get a blue flame. The way it is now is a huge waste of LP gas. And get a regulator. If you get a blue flame at lower pressure, your gas will probably last 2 or 3 times as long. And Jesse if you’re reading this, get an adjustable FLIR scope, the heat from a still at night will light up like the sun from a mile away. Get rid of that old green night vision monocular. -Wiz, WV
Wizard again
And its a darn shame about Popcorn. They busted him based partly on the documentaries he filmed years ago. The poor old guy was about to be sentenced to life in prison. The feds who pursued his case should be held accountable for this crime. -Wiz, WV

This guy is a super smart ad-man no body on Madison Ave, could develope a business
plan like this man and i did not cost him a dime. I put deals toghter with the government
small companies and i would be proud to represent Tims brand.

i have to agree on the popcorn situation.i am i guess a outlaw myself and i believe the agents that busted popcorn should be hung out of a tree.as for tim i hope he does go legal cause i always love it when a country boy comes out on top.i myself are on way to fame for suing the no good ass law that beat me while handcuffed in jail in east tx while it was being video taped.may popcorn r.i.p and thank the lord a famous country singer got involved on his behalf.another hero of mine./good ol hank

The show may be based on the making of shine, but other than that a publicity stunt.just a way to get exposure for Tim to go legal, with the help of Discovery ,how does he explain throwing down $200,000 to get into the business, also Jessie is a joke, running around in the woods in tennis shoes with “Walmart camo and night vision”,and carrying just a side arm in this” dangerous job ,….what a joke!!!!

Good Luck Tim.. Stay Safe, hope you can go Legit. I’d buy. It’s a shame in a Free Nation we truly aren’t Free.

My whole family were moonshiners and damn proud of it. These people are just trying to make a living and support their families. They are not criminals. As far as I can tell this show is accurate. Tim cannot be prosecuted for something he did on a television show. If this was the law then Robert DeNiro and Clint Eastwood would be in prison. The state is powerless without a sample of the illegal product. How many movies have you seen with people smoking pot, shooting up heroin, shooting a cop. Personally I’m for the shiners all the way. State Beverage agents are one step above school crossing guards in ability to catch criminals. The Federal pigs who chased after Popcorn should be charged with murder, then hanged. Sorry Bastards!! I say FUCK THE LAW AND SHINE ON BOYS. To show I’m not a hypocrite I also favor legalizing marijuana.

Anybody who really believes that we live in the “land of the free” should watch this show and then change their minds. Popcorn was not “free”. Popcorn is dead and the Gestapo that killed him are still running around flashing their badges and messing in people’s lives. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE SHINERS AND POT HEADS EVERYWHERE. THERE SHOULD BE A STATUE OF POPCORN ON THE MALL IN WASHINGTON D.C. AS THE LAST FREE AMERICAN ON EARTH.
