Cocktail professionals and enthusiasts alike gathered at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans to honor industry leaders at Tales of the Cocktail’s 7th Annual Spirited Awards.
The video directly below and above the winners list was a highlight of the evening called “Nothing Beats a Bartender.”
Hosts Simon Ford and Tom Caltabiano entertained 1,000 attendees, while The Crooners provided the fitting music that truly embodied the Gatsby theme.
Top Honors were split between two New York based bars. The Dead Rabbit took home three awards including World’s Best Cocktail Menu, World’s Best New Cocktail Bar and International Bartender of the Year for Dead Rabbit Bartender, Jack McGarry.
Clover Club won Best American Cocktail Bar, Best High Volume Cocktail Bar, and Clover Club’s Julie Reiner was the winner of the Best Bar Mentor category.
All award winners were honored with Reidel Crystal trophies.
This year, the Spirited Awards also paid tribute to a beloved member of the cocktail industry, the late Henry Besant, with a tribute shot and awarded the Helen David Lifetime Achievement Award to Salvatore Calabrese for his many years of success in the cocktail industry.

The celebration was proudly presented by Tales of the Cocktail, The 86 Co., Bacardi USA, Beverage Media, Contratto, Fontainebleau Miami Beach, KRUG, Mountain Valley Spring Water, Pernod Ricard USA, Tanqueray, and William Grant & Sons. The Gatsby-themed awards show honored eighteen of the world’s top bartenders, brand ambassadors, bars, spirits, authors and more.
