Breckenridge Distillery tells BourbonBlog.com that they’ve found several hundred friends to help them set the new world record for Shot Ski during the Ullr Fest today in Breckenridge, Colorado.
Though Guinness doesn’t acknowledge world records set dealing with alcohol, Breckenridge says they will set a new world record. At Ullr Festival 2013, Breckenridge Distillery constructed 313+ feet of skis with 192 people who took a shot ski together making history.
In the following months, two resorts worked to beat their record: Sundown Mountain Ski Resort Dubuque Iowa boasted a 350 person 655+ foot shooter in March followed by Fernie Alpine Resort in British Columbia with its 769+ foot, 520 person record in April 2013.
Today, Breckenridge Distillery intends on once again leading the charge to set the “Shot Ski World Record” as thirsty festival-goers of legal drinking age will shoot Ullr Fest-inspired spearmint schnapps distilled by Breckenridge Distillery.
Participants will donate $5 to be a part of the record will all funds benefiting the Breckenridge Mountain Rotary.
For those of you who may not know, a Shot Ski is created by taking an ski and gluing 4 or 5 shot glasses to the top, which allows friends to take shot simultaneously (see photo above).
The festival is named after Ullr, the God of winter in Norse mythology and is Breckenridge’s “celebration of snow.”
