We’ve recently been enjoying Olmeca Altos Tequila at BourbonBlog.com as a superb option for both sipping and mixing.
The inspiration for Olmeca Altos came when Henry Besant and Dre Masso, two master mixologists from the UK, were unable to find a 100% agave tequila that was suitable for premium cocktails but was not priced at the super/ultra premium level. They joined forces with Master Distiller Jesús Hernandez to create Olmeca Altos.
Here are a two margaritas recipes which showcase the brand characteristics.
Jasmine Tea Margarita
2 parts Olmeca Altos Reposado
1 part lime juice
½ part agave syrup
4 parts jasmine tea
Build up all ingredients over ice.
Stir in chilled glass.
Tommy’s Margarita
2 parts Olmeca Altos Plata
1 part fresh squeezed lime juice
½ part agave nectar
Shake all ingredients with ice and fine strain into chilled glass.
Serve on the rocks.
