Jim Beam Signature Craft Quarter Cask is first to bring you the news and a review of Jim Beam Signature Craft Quarter Cask Bourbon. Tom Fischer interviews 7th Generation Jim Beam Master Distiller Fred Noe in the video above as they taste the Bourbon.

While Noe tells us he is working with this Bourbon to perfect it, we’re impressed with this quarter cask Signature Craft expression as it is extremely smooth with beautiful, deep oak notes.

The version we taste in this video is a 12-year-old Jim Beam Bourbon which has been finished for several months in a quarter cask and bottled at 86 proof. Noe says it may be a number of months before this quarter cask Bourbon is released.

Laphroaig, also owned by Beam Suntory, released their first quarter cask Scotch in 2004. Laphroaig says that quarter casks allow for 30% great surface contact with whiskey.

Thus, when a smaller barrel used, the oak influence will be stronger than when maturing or finishing in a standard size barrel.

Fred also tells us that a new Kentucky Fire cinnamon flavored Bourbon and a new Harvest Collection showcasing a variety of unique grains are also coming soon.
