Deanston 20 Limited Edition Cask Strength
Deanston tells they have added Deanston Oloroso 20 Year Old, as a new limited edition single malt to their distinguished Scotch whisky portfolio.

This expression has been bottled at cask strength of 55.3.% after maturing for 20 years at the Perthshire distillery in ex-Oloroso sherry casks. The suggested price is $165 (£110).

We’ll bring you our review soon on, but for now the taste according to Deanston:

The taste profile includes hints of Oloroso sherry mixed with warming gingerbread and nutmeg, making it an ideal malt for the festive season. Distinguished by its beautifully balanced sweet and creamy nose and rich, spicy palate, the packaging of this limited bottling embodiesDeanston’s traditional look and feel, and is reminiscent of the earthy colours of the Oloroso casks which housed this copper gold malt for two decades.

“The rich, creamy, spicy influences imparted by the wood from the ex-Oloroso sherry casks give this malt a truly special character and we’re excited to announce its release in time for the festive season when it can be enjoyed with friends and family,” says Alison Gibb, Global Marketing Manager at Burn Stewart Distillers.

Deanston Distillery ScotlandFormer cotton mill Deanston Distillery (pictured above) has been producing handcrafted, natural colour Highland single malt whisky on the banks of the River Teith since 1966. The metre-thick stone walls of the distillery’s warehouse help to create the perfect conditions to ensure a smooth, even maturation year round.

Deanston Oloroso 20 Year Old was crafted without the aid of modern technology, using only the finest Scottish ingredients, including barley grown in the local fields and soft water from the River Teith.
