Copper & Kings Distillery of Louisville, Kentucky tells BourbonBlog.com that they have released the “Brewskey,” which is a whiskey made from distilled beers. They explain that when quarantine started most breweries had a beer in kegs ready to ship out to bars. But with bars closed there was no one to drink it, causing a lot of beer to be left stranded.
So Copper & Kings partnered with their good friends at Against The Grain Brewery, received the beer, distilled it using our brandy distilling techniques, and finished it in oak barrels.
Learn more about this creation on in the video below as we interview Copper & Kings Master Distiller Brandon O’Daniel, and on this link.
This product is available for sale for $25 for 375 ml online with curbside pickup a distillery and can be purchased here.
Profits will Support Rock the Vote
Copper & Kings tells us:
We mourn the death of countless black people in our country, including Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and the many who died before them. We have pledged that all profits from the sale of Brewskey will go to Rock The Vote.
We feel voting is the best way to create an actionable response to the injustices currently happening in our country. It’s crucial that every able-bodied American exercise their right this year and in years to follow. That is why we chose to work with Rock The Vote on this project, their efforts to maximize the power of young people.
Brewskey: How it was made.
Copper Pot-distilled. Non-Chill Filtered. No Added Flavors or Caramel Color
The brandy distilling philosophy is one of retention & concentration. To distill an intense reflection of the true profile of the base beer. We use this process to distill finished craft beer into an extraordinary spirit.
They say their ambition is to distill wondrous distillate. To distill the pioneering creativity, fearless imagination and myopic attention to quality that America’s craft distillers and craft brewers bring to their craft.
