Stitzel Weller 24 year old bourbon

Stitzel-Weller Distillery tells BourbonBlog.com they have released the new line of distiller-exclusive releases called “Stitzel Reserve. This begins with a 24-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey.

This marks the first of a series of one-of-a-kind bottlings pulled from the historic site’s most precious archival barrels.

Rarity Revealed, Price Reserved

Only 191 bottles were drawn from just nine barrels, underscoring the extreme scarcity of this inaugural release. In keeping with the exclusivity, pricing for the 750mL bottle has not yet been publicly disclosed and is available only upon request at the distillery.

How Much Do You Think It Will Cost?

Additionally, we’re told by inside sources that only one bottle per day is being sold at the distillery.

We are curious how much you think it will cost? Please share your guess under the comments section below here, and we will be staying on top of the story.

Selected and blended by Nicole Austin, Diageo’s Director of American Whiskey, this 24-Year-Old bourbon launches the Stitzel Reserve series.

“This exceptional 24-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey has spent decades maturing under careful supervision, developing a profile rich with notes of cracked leather, saddle oil, and burnt sugar,” Nicole Austin tells BourbonBlog.com.

How to Get a Bottle…Or a Taste

Available exclusively on-site at the Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Louisville beginning June 2025, this first release is part of a new chapter for the historic distillery.

Guests can also experience the whiskey by the pour through a tasting at the Garden & Gun Club at Stitzel-Weller, which includes an etched whiskey glass, branded bag, and a limited edition Stitzel-Weller Distillery pin with purchase.

BourbonBlog.com‘s Tom Fischer recently visited Stitzel-Weller Distillery and Garden & Gun Club during its 90th anniversary celebration, held on Kentucky Derby Day – exactly 90 years after the distillery first opened on Derby Day in 1935. As part of his visit, here are photos from the event (see below) and sat down for an exclusive interview with Douglas Kragel, Director of Whiskey Brand Homes and Hospitality for Diageo.

Bourbon Personally Selected and Blended by Nicole Austin

As this whiskey was personally selected and blended by Nicole Austin, Director of American Whiskey Liquid Development and Capabilities at Diageo, she is known for her expertise and leadership, Austin is curating each Stitzel Reserve release based on liquid quality and peak maturity, with no set schedule on when the next one will be released.

“At Stitzel-Weller Distillery, we are fortunate to have inherited some of the most remarkable aging barrels in the country,” Austin tells us. “The launch of Stitzel Reserve is a pivotal moment for our distillery. It’s a celebration of the past and a bold step forward.”

What Stitzel Reserve Honors

The 24-Year-Old release celebrates Stitzel-Weller’s 90-year legacy, paying tribute to the distillery’s enduring influence on American whiskey. Originally opened in 1935 and often referred to as the “cathedral of bourbon,” Stitzel-Weller’s latest endeavor opens a new gateway to its whiskey heritage.

Stitzel Reserve is not just a new label—it is a tribute to the site’s history and aging program. Each future release will be drawn from select archival barrels stored within the distillery’s warehouses and made available only in highly limited quantities, reinforcing the distillery’s role as a guardian of rare and exceptional bourbon.
