Breckenridge Distillery’s First Nationally Distributed Rye Whiskey Is Out Now at 100 Proof

Just in time for the National Rye Month of August, Colorado’s Breckenridge Distillery, releases its first dedicated, nationally distributed rye whiskey at 100 Proof. Labeled as a Breckenridge Blended Rye Whiskey, the new release combines an 80% rye mash bill with a bold 100 proof.

It is produced at 9,600 feet in Breckenridge, Colorado, and carries no age statement.

Breckenridge Rye Whiskey Is Out Now

Breckenridge announced the new whiskey on June 4, 2026. The company calls the release Breckenridge Rye Whiskey, while the bottle identifies it more specifically as “Blended Rye Whiskey.”

Breckenridge has not disclosed an age statement, the remaining 20% of the mash bill or the individual whiskeys used in the blend.

“Rye whiskey has always been one of our favorites. Traditional Rye fans talk a lot about how many of today’s available offerings lack the big rye notes with a perfect spice balance that we enjoyed in decades past. We wanted to bring back classic Rye, bold but in harmony, devoid of the angular oak notes you typically encounter these days. We believe we nailed this one,” Bryan Nolt, Founder of Breckenridge Distillery tells BourbonBlog.com.

“We’ve spent years refining what a Colorado whiskey could be, and this represents some of the most deliberate, exciting work we’ve ever done as a distillery.”

Official Breckenridge Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes

Breckenridge Distillery tells us that the whiskey opens with chocolate, cherry, honey, hay and rye spice.

Caramel, cocoa and stone fruit follow on the palate before a bold, lingering rye spice carries through the finish.

Founder Bryan Nolt says the distillery wanted to bring back the bolder rye character found in classic expressions while maintaining balance and avoiding overly sharp oak notes.

Where to Find Breckenridge Rye Whiskey

Breckenridge Rye Whiskey is out now at retailers and through Breckenridge Distillery’s online store where delivery is permitted.

The original press announcement listed a suggested retail range of $34.99 to $39.99. Current online listings generally range from approximately $35.99 to $45, with $39.99 appearing frequently among retailers.
