Yellowstone Limited-Edition Bourbon 2026

Yellowstone Bourbon tells BourbonBlog.com it is introducing Yellowstone Limited Edition 2026, the 11th annual release in the brand’s Limited Edition series.

Master Distiller Stephen Beam tells us he created the new expression by combining 7- and 14-year-old Kentucky straight bourbons. Portions of the whiskey were finished separately in Ruby Port and Tawny Port casks before the components were married and bottled at 101 proof.

Yellowstone Limited Edition 2026 is available first at the Limestone Branch Distillery Visitor Center and is scheduled to reach select retailers nationwide beginning in August 2026. The suggested retail price is $99 per 750 mL bottle.

What do you think?

Does the combination of Ruby and Tawny Port finishes make Yellowstone Limited Edition 2026 a bottle you would seek out—or would you rather taste the 7- and 14-year-old bourbons without the finishes?

Two Kentucky Bourbons and Two Port Finishes

The components of Yellowstone Limited Edition 2026 were not blended together before entering one common finishing barrel. Yellowstone says portions of the bourbon were finished separately in Ruby and Tawny Port casks before being married to create the final expression.

Ruby Port barrels can contribute brighter red-fruit flavors, while Tawny Port barrels are often associated with deeper dried-fruit, nut and oak characteristics. Yellowstone’s goal was to bring the two profiles together without losing the structure and maturity of the underlying Kentucky bourbons.

The blend combines 7-year-old bourbon with whiskey aged for 14 years, giving the release a mix of younger fruit and sweetness alongside more mature oak flavors.

Inspired by Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone says Stephen Beam drew inspiration from the changing light and shadows found in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone at Yellowstone National Park.

The Ruby Port finish represents the brighter colors created as sunlight reaches the canyon, while the Tawny Port finish represents the darker shadows and deeper colors found along the valley floor.

Yellowstone Limited Edition 2026 Tasting Notes

Yellowstone provides the following official tasting notes for the new limited release:

Aroma: Charred oak, blackberry, plum and piloncillo
Palate: Caramelized sugar, dark fruit and dark chocolate
Finish: Dark chocolate, roasted nuts and a hint of clove

The combination of two bourbon ages and two Port finishes is intended to provide dark fruit and dessert-like flavors while preserving the oak and traditional bourbon character of the base whiskeys.
