In 2022, the U.S. purchased over 6.1 million 9-liter cases of Irish whiskey, generating $1.4 billion in revenue and significantly boosting the nation’s spirits industry.

As the fourth fastest-growing spirit in the U.S., Irish whiskey’s unique flavor profile, versatility, and rich heritage contribute to its rising popularity.

In fact, in 2022, DISCUS tells us it was the first time that U.S. spirits supplier revenues surpassed beer (for all spirits combined), and Irish whiskey played a key role in this achievement with its emergence as the fourth fastest-growing spirit in both revenue and volume in the U.S.

Industry leaders anticipate continued growth in the premium-and-above segments, as consumers increasingly seek out high-quality, authentic experiences.
