In a powerful stride that unites the spirit of horseracing with the artistry of bourbon, BourbonBlog.com proudly reports from the announcement at Churchill Downs.  We continue our Kentucky Derby 2023 coverage with the story of Woodford Reserve’s 2023 Kentucky Derby Bottle – a magnificent homage to Secretariat’s 50th anniversary and a testament to the enduring allure of the Kentucky Derby.

Priced at $55, the bottle is available for purchase worldwide, be watching for it soon. Secretariat, a Triple Crown winner, still holds record race times at the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont.

Woodford Reserve, the esteemed Presenting Sponsor of the Kentucky Derby, proudly unveils its 2023 commemorative Derby bottle, honoring the 50th anniversary of Secretariat’s legendary 1973 Derby victory and celebrating “The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports.”

The bottle showcases the remarkable artwork of Kentucky native Jaime Corum, renowned for her exquisite equine portraits. Her masterpiece captures the unforgettable moment when Secretariat, adorned with the iconic Garland of Roses, basks in the Winner’s Circle at Churchill Downs.

Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall tells BourbonBlog.com, “This is our most collectible Derby bottle yet, as Secretariat is perhaps the most revered and most loved racehorse in history.” Corum expressed, “I have been honored to paint Secretariat many times, but this one is truly special to me, as it celebrates his 50th anniversary and is paired with Woodford Reserve.”

Since 1999, Woodford Reserve’s Derby bottle has been an annual collector’s item eagerly anticipated by both bourbon and racing enthusiasts.

This year’s release is no exception, masterfully blending history, art, and the timeless spirit of the Kentucky Derby into a prized possession for whiskey fans and collectors alike.
