2 oz. Woodford Reserve Bourbon
.5 oz. Dumante Pistachio liqueur
Skinny Orange twist
1 Lavender Sprig

Blend Woodford Reserve Bourbon and Dumante Pistachio liquer in a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for ten seconds. Poor in a chilled martini glass and garnish with a skinny orange twist and a sprig of lavender.

Eric submitted this cocktail for competition in the Manhattan Experience and Craft of the Ultimate Manhattan Contest in Louisville with Woodford Reserve and Esquire magazine, read more about it here.

“I was inspired by Derby time last May and wanted to blend a Woodford Manhattan with a fresh new idea. I had been exposed to Dumante Pistachio liquer while I was working for Mortons Steakhouse. I knew this liquer would blend well with the right idea. I had been making Woodford Old Fashioneds with Dumante. But, to make it into a Manhattan required a little more creativity. I had a lavender plant growing in my garden and found that the aroma brought out an interesting bouquet for Woodford. I then added a skinny orange slice after a little experimentation. Perfect!” – Eric Dentinger
