Maker’s Mark Bourbon Whiskey or other spicey, wheated Bourbon
Evan Williams Honey Reserve or Wild Turkey American Honey
1 Bottle of Hefeweizen Beer
Bottle of Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse Barbecue Sauce (for the “BBQ Water”)

For the BBQ Water:

Combine a full bottle 19 oz of Jack Daniel’s Honey Smokehouse Barbecue Sauce with equal part of steaming hot water in mixing bowl. Whisk until incorporated. Let sit to cool or refrigerate.

Combine 2 oz. of your favorite Bourbon, 1 oz. honey-infused Bourbon, and a 1/4 oz. of BBQ Water and squeeze of a quarter of an orange in cocktail shaker and shake over ice. Strain and pour into martini glass. Use a Smoked Salt for the rim if you have it, we suggest Bourbon Barrel Foods Bourbon Smoked Salt.

Dry shake a fourth of a bottle of Hefeweizen beer (hold tight to shaker as carbonation may cause shaker to explode). Spoon beer foam over top of the cocktail to garnish.

I just cringe at the idea of using Evan Williams Single Barrel for mixing. Use the regular black label if you must, not a fine single barrel. Any bourbon more than 4 years old is patriotic as far as I am concerned. Drink it like the patriots did back in the day, straight up or maybe a bit of water. Don’t hide that good bourbon flavor, that is not patriotic in my view. Mixing whiskey is like putting A1 Sauce on a steak, if it needs A1 then you probably should not eat it.

Had Eagle Rare Mint Julips with mint pick fresh out of the garden. Hoooo-wheee! Favorite whiskeys right now are a toss up between Pappy 15 and the Thomas Handy Sazerac Rye (2010).

Every bourbon is patriotic as they are made in the USA!
