Four Roses Bourbon invites BourbonBlog.com to an extremely rare tasting of the Four Roses Super Premium Platinum Bourbon (which is only exported to Japan).
While this is an export only Bourbon, watch as we review this bourbon on camera with friends from Seven Grand of Los Angeles and Four Roses.
Four Roses Ambassador Al Young tells BourbonBlog.com’s Tom Fischer that the birth of this particular expression of Four Roses dates back to the days when Seagram’s (former owners of Four Roses) only exported Bourbon out of the U.S.A.
Four Roses is now owned by Kirin. While the Super Premium can only be purchased in Japan, there are delicious expressions both (limited and year round) that Four Roses offers in the USA and across the globe….should you worry about missing this one if you never make it to Japan?
We loved tasting it, it is quite a treasure of a bourbon, read our review below and watch the video above.!
Four Roses Super Premium Platinum Bourbon Review
DISTILLERY: Four Roses Bourbon, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky
AGE: Blend of Bourbons aged between 8 and 10 years old
COLOR: Medium Amber
NOSE: Citrus, floral against pleasant barrel char.
TASTE: Balance of buttery rich and approachably lightly sweet. Soft chocolate, dry cocoa with hints of lychee, melon, and baking spices.
We can see how many of the deep and layered flavors would be complimentary to Japanese cuisine.
FINISH: Luscious sweet char and oak.
While it is absolutely like no other Four Roses Bourbon we’ve ever tasted, signature mellow notes that hallmark of Four Roses.
