Barrel House Distilling tells that country music artist Shooter Jennings has signed a partnership agreement with Barrel House Distilling Company, makers of Devil John Moonshine, and Accelerated Brands, a spirits brand development firm.
The deal, which includes promotional support of Jennings’ recent ‘The Other Life’ CD and movie release, his upcoming summer Gunslinger Tour, and future development of the artist’s own line of spirits, was announced following the May 2013 contract signing.
“This partnership was triggered when a fan of Shooter’s gave him a bottle of Devil John,” said Jon Hensley, Shooter Jennings’ agent.
“Shooter knows moonshine and he loved it. He also liked that the brand is faithful to an original eastern Kentucky ‘shine recipe, now distilled by Devil John Wright’sdescendent, Pete Wright.
In Shooter’s own words,” Hensley said, ‘Devil John is real deal moonshine’.” Wright, along with fellow Kentuckian Jeff Wiseman, founded Barrel House Distilling Company in the historic James E. Pepper Distillery. Since 2008, they’ve been making the cane and corn based spirit in a direct fire copper still – just as Devil John Wright would have distilled 150 years ago.
“We’ve made sure that Devil John Moonshine is totally authentic to the original recipe and distillation process,” Wright said.
“This is a natural pairing of an original music artist and spirits distillery – both having a successful family pedigree and high level of authenticity in their respective fields,” said David Perry, President of Accelerated Brands. “It’s a natural fit that we hope to build on with Devil John Moonshine and future Shooter Jennings’ spirits brands.”
