Never Say Die Bourbon is coming home to Lexington—with an English pub, a planned micro-distillery, an immersive whiskey experience and a forthcoming bourbon that will cross the Atlantic not once, but twice.
The transatlantic whiskey brand plans to open its first brand home in fall 2026 at 249 W. Short St. in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. According to Never Say Die, the two-story destination will also become the only place in the world where visitors can taste and bottle its forthcoming Double Ocean Aged Bourbon.

A Kentucky Home With English Character
The ground floor is planned as an English-inspired pub built around the brand’s “Kentucky provenance, English character” identity. The menu is expected to combine British pub food and American favorites, while the drinks program will feature Kentucky bourbon alongside selections from Britain and Europe.
Regular live music will add another British connection—and a nod to the unlikely link between Never Say Die, Liverpool’s Casbah Coffee Club and The Beatles.
Upstairs, visitors will move through a 1950s-style British library that introduces the brand’s history before entering a tasting room finished with oak and limestone. A racetrack-shaped tasting table will anchor the room, where guests will be able to sample Never Say Die’s core whiskey lineup.
The experience will conclude inside a barrel room modeled after a traditional Kentucky rickhouse. The company says the property will operate under its own distilled spirits plant license, with spirits also produced on-site.
A Bourbon That Crosses the Atlantic Twice
The biggest whiskey news may be the brand home’s exclusive Double Ocean Aged Bourbon.
Never Say Die says the expression will travel from Kentucky to England in its original barrels, mature in England for one year and then cross the Atlantic again to return to Kentucky. Visitors to the Lexington brand home will be able to taste the bourbon and bottle their own. The company says it will be sold nowhere else in the world.
The Lexington destination is also expected to be, at least initially, the only place in the United States to purchase Never Say Die Barrel Strength Bourbon. That expression launched in the United Kingdom and began the brand’s transatlantic whiskey story.
BourbonBlog.com first covered Never Say Die’s England-finished Barrel Strength Bourbon in 2022, when the whiskey was available only in the UK. We followed the brand again when Never Say Die Bourbon made its U.S. debut in 2023.
The core range now includes Barrel Strength Bourbon at 56% to 61% ABV, Small Batch Bourbon at 47.5% ABV and Rye Whiskey at 52.5% ABV. The bourbon mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley; the rye mash bill is 56% rye, 33% corn and 11% malted barley.
Never Say Die Rye was also named Best New Rye Whiskey at The Tasting Alliance’s 2025 Top Shelf Awards.
Never Say Die has not yet announced the Double Ocean Bourbon’s proof, price, bottle count or exact release date.

From a 33-1 Derby Winner to The Beatles
The brand’s story begins with Never Say Die, the Kentucky-born racehorse foaled in 1951. Three years later, Never Say Die won the 1954 Epsom Derby at odds of 33-1, becoming the first American-born horse to win the race in more than 70 years.
The victory created an extraordinary connection to British music history. According to the account shared by the brand and members of the Best family, Liverpool’s Mona Best backed the long shot and later used her winnings to purchase the property where she opened the Casbah Coffee Club.
The Casbah became an important early venue for The Quarrymen and The Beatles. John Lennon, Paul McCartney and George Harrison performed there before the group became internationally famous, and Mona’s son Pete Best later became The Beatles’ original drummer.
That history will shape the Lexington visitor experience, from the British library and regular live music to the racetrack-shaped tasting table.
“We can’t wait to welcome people through the doors,” Never Say Die co-founder Brian Luftman said.
Luftman said the new home will allow visitors to hear the brand’s story, taste its whiskey and explore what the transatlantic journey contributes to its character.
Never Say Die says its bourbon is distilled and aged for more than six years in Kentucky before the barrels cross the Atlantic for additional maturation at White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire, England.
The Never Say Die brand home is planned to open in fall 2026 at 249 W. Short St. in downtown Lexington. Updates and signup information are available at Never Say Die’s official brand-home page.
