Famed winemaker Dave Phinney’s Savage and Cooke distillery on Mare Island, California they are completely shutting down whiskey production in this time of need to focus fully on the production of hand sanitizer. Just outside of Napa Valley and not far from San Fransisco, we recently visited the distillery in early 2020 before the COVID-19 crisis.

MGP Indiana Distillery of Lawrenceburg, Indiana launches their first proprietary Straight Rye Whiskey label and brand called Rossville Union. There will be two whiskey expressions to start, including a barrel proof along with a private barrel program for restaurants, bars, and liquor stores. MGP (Midwest Grain Products) has historically been known as the supplier of premium distilled spirits like rye whiskeys gins, and vodkas for a number of brands and distilleries.
