Maker's Mark Ice Ball Maker Mold Holiday GiftBourbonBlog.com has noticed the recent trend of designer spherical “ice balls” made for cocktails and mixology. With a perfect sphere giving less surface area, your cocktail or Bourbon stays cold without the ice melting so quickly.

Maker’s Mark recognized the trend and created their own plastic signature ice ball maker mold as the 2010 holiday gift to Maker’s Mark Ambassadors. Perfect timing and for a plastic design, this mold makes some great ice balls and easy to use.

There are Japanese brands that charge several hundred to over a thousand dollars for molds and solutions. Leave it the American ingenuity at Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky for quite a gift! Bill Samuel’s Jr. calls it “the ultimate bourbon ball” in this “spirit of unconventionality” in his holiday wishes to Maker’s Mark Ambassadors.

Thanks, Maker’s Mark for delivering Maker’s 46 to us in 2010 and a way to make sure that we have some “Bourbon Balls” this Christmas (Bourbon not included in this gift).

If you have used this Bourbon Ball ice Maker, we’d love to hear how you like it, post in comments below!

Where can I buy this Ice ball maker? I had drinks with a friend and she had them in my drink. They are awesome, so is the tray for sale somewhere?

I am totally hooked. I can’t stop talking about the experience. I am the number 1 saleperson here. Please make it available to buy so I can send to everyone I know and people at work. It rocks without the s.

I agree with jb. Please makes these available for sale! I want to share with at least 6 friends. We spend weekends on our sailboat, and I buy ice there just for drinks (we have refrigeration). No buying ice anymore. I freeze up enough ice balls to fill a couple of zip locks, and not only have ice for the weekend, but really impress my guests. Great gift!

I always look forwrd to my holiday gift each year. This years gift was exceptional and very usefull. I am sorry to say that I dropped it when taking it out of the freezer and it shattered to pieces. I did get one good tray out–real cool. Is there a place I can buy one of these. I was really going to show off my round cubes but I broke my toy. Help me out if you can. Thanks and best wishes for your continued success. Also bought a bottle of Makers Mark Bar b Q sauce, tasted really great on Super bowl meatballs. Going to glob it on my spareribs one this snow starts, wish I had some round cubes to go with it 🙁

PS: THAT WAS MY ONLY CHRISTMAS GIFT, HOW SAD DOES THAT GET? I MIGHT HAVE TO CALL DR. PHIL TO TALK ME THROUGH MY TRAGIC LOSS. I ALWAYS HEARD THAT GUYS WITH ROUND CUBES WERE LUCKIER WITH THE LADIES, THERE GOES MY CONFIDENCE, BOO HOO, NO CLASSY WOMEN FOR ME.LOL

These are splendid. It takes a little longer to chill the bourbon (or whatever) but they last a real long time with minimal dilutional effect. If you swirl the glass the balls spin. Run the mold under warm water to seperate the halves, then grab the half and give it a twist to help get the balls out.
