Maker's Mark Ice Ball Maker Mold Holiday GiftBourbonBlog.com has noticed the recent trend of designer spherical “ice balls” made for cocktails and mixology. With a perfect sphere giving less surface area, your cocktail or Bourbon stays cold without the ice melting so quickly.

Maker’s Mark recognized the trend and created their own plastic signature ice ball maker mold as the 2010 holiday gift to Maker’s Mark Ambassadors. Perfect timing and for a plastic design, this mold makes some great ice balls and easy to use.

There are Japanese brands that charge several hundred to over a thousand dollars for molds and solutions. Leave it the American ingenuity at Maker’s Mark Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky for quite a gift! Bill Samuel’s Jr. calls it “the ultimate bourbon ball” in this “spirit of unconventionality” in his holiday wishes to Maker’s Mark Ambassadors.

Thanks, Maker’s Mark for delivering Maker’s 46 to us in 2010 and a way to make sure that we have some “Bourbon Balls” this Christmas (Bourbon not included in this gift).

If you have used this Bourbon Ball ice Maker, we’d love to hear how you like it, post in comments below!

Everyone made fun of me talking about my round ice balls. They change their mind after they have a drink with them. We had a Super Bowl party and the ice was the star of the party. Today my wife hosted a Baby Shower she had been freezing ice balls some with a hint of blue food coloring and several with either a slice of lime or lemon and then filled a clear glass dispenser with water. It looked great and had everyone asking about the ice balls. Thinking of freezing a beverage itself to chill more of the same, no dilution. Too bad you can’t freeze bourbon.

I love mine. Thank you. Where can I buy this Ice ball maker? They are awesome, so is the tray for sale somewhere?

I am a Marker’s Mark Ambassador. I LOVE the Bourbon Ball ice maker mold that was sent last year as a gift. One of those ice balls is all I use now, to chill my Maker’s Mark. Unfortunately my wife dropped the mold out of the freezer and broke a whole in the mold. I’m desperate to replace it. Does MM sell those molds or do you know where I can buy them? If not, I’m begging for a replacement…..please…please!

Being a Marker’s Mark Ambassador is a pleasure, especially around the holidays when we are going to receive some “special” gift from Maker’s Mark.

P.S. I’m delighted that my neighborhood Costco (La Mesa, CA) always has the 1.75 liters in stock! Keep up the good work!

Got this last year & loved it. Love it even more since my husband accidentally discovered that using warm water in the trays before freezing makes a less cloudy, easier-releasing ice ball. Highly recommended! I’m sure there’s some sort of chemical explanation, but I don’t care.

After nearly 9 months I still use my ice ball mold regularly. I love to sit out on my patio and enjoy my Makers Mark as it slowly melts my ice ball. Salute!

Mine works beautifully. I make them up and store them in a big zip log bag in the freezer so there will always be one when I need it! Love my MM iceball maker.
